October 05, 2000
This Technical Note provides step-by-step instructions on how to
configure Express Sync to sync with a WAB file that is not the
default WAB file.
This Technical Note is for advanced users and requires editing
registry settings. Incorrectly editing the registry can render
your computer inoperable.
-
Run regedit:
-
Click on the menu and
select .
-
Type regedit in the
Open: field and click
OK.
-
Select the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Reaction
Software Inc.\Express Sync.
-
Add a new string value:
-
Right-click in the right pane and select
| .
-
Type WABFile as the name of the value.
-
Double click on the WABFile entry to edit
the string value, and then enter the full path of the WAB file
you want to sync with. For example, if you want to sync with
C:\Users\todd\todd.wab, then enter
C:\Users\todd\todd.wab in the
Value data: field.
Click OK, and then exit
regedit.
-
The next time you perform a HotSync operation, Express Sync
will sync with the WAB file specified in the registry. The
first time you sync with a new file, you should perform a
one-way synchronization.
