Technical Note 12

This Techical Note provides step-by-step instructions on how to move Express Sync to a new computer, or more generally, from computer A to computer B.

1. Sync your Palm handheld with computer A to ensure the Windows Address Book is up-to-date.
2. Move your Windows Address Book from computer A to computer B.

   On computer A:

   1. Open the Windows Address Book application.
   2. From the File menu, select Export | Address Book (WAB)....
   3. Save your address book to a floppy disk or other removable media.

   On computer B:

   1. Open the Windows Address Book application.
   2. From the File menu, select Import | Address Book (WAB)....
   3. Import the WAB file from the floppy (or other removable media) that you exported from computer A.
3. Install Express Sync on computer B. If you don't have the installer for Express Sync, you can download the latest version. When prompted to select the HotSync action you want to perform on your first synchronization, select Windows Address Book overwrites Palm handheld.
4. If you will be using Express Sync on both computer A and computer B, then configure Express Sync on computer B to match the configuration on computer A.
5. Sync your Palm handheld with computer B.
