This Techical Note provides step-by-step instructions on how to
completely uninstall Express Sync from your computer. The
automatic uninstaller leaves some registry settings and files on
your computer; this is done so if you ever reinstall Express Sync,
your preferences will be preserved. However, if you are attempting
to install an earlier version of Express Sync, then these
preferences may not be compatible, and it will be necessary to
follow the instructions below.
-
Uninstall Express Sync by clicking on the Start menu, and
selecting |
|
.
-
Manually delete any files that were not deleted from the
Express Sync directory. The default location for the Express
Sync directory is C:\Program Files\Express Sync.
-
Run regedit:
-
Click on the menu and
select .
-
Type regedit in the
Open: field and click
OK.
-
Delete the keys HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Reaction
Software Inc.\Express Sync and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Reaction Software
Inc.\Express Sync.
-
In the right pane, select the key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Reaction Software Inc.\Express
Sync so that Express Sync is highlighted as shown below.
-
From the menu, select
.
-
Repeat the above two steps for the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Reaction Software
Inc.\Express Sync.
-
Delete the file
PalmDir\UserDir\Express
Sync\Address.dat, where PalmDir
is the directory where the Palm Desktop Softwre is installed
and UserDir is your personal
subdirectory. For example, if you installed the Palm Desktop
Software in C:\Palm and your user
directory is ReedT, then you would delete
the file C:\Palm\ReedT\Express
Sync\Address.dat.
